MY STORY

Welcome to Cynthia’s Bakery, where love is an ingredient in every recipe. My name is Cynthia.

I invite you into my home where you have a place at my table.

 

Because my food is so personal, I would love to share with you a few memories that have influenced my passion for baking and cooking. For me, making sweet and savory creations in the kitchen was always a family affair. Growing up, I would go to my Grandmother’s house for dinner every single Sunday. An expert baker, she would use perfectly-ripe peaches from her own peach trees to make mouth-watering desserts that paired with my Grandfather’s home-made wine. In addition, each week, my Grandfather would bring me to the farmer’s market down at the train station. I remember him carefully examining the produce like a skilled hunter for the best fruits and vegetables. “Only the finest and the freshest ingredients,” he would say. I have carried this mentality with me ever since.

 

In our house and my Grandmother’s house, there was always room at the table for unexpected guests - whether they were friends, neighbors, or even strangers. No one was ever turned away from dinner. It was instilled in me that when done right, food builds family and community. That is why I not only welcome people I love to my table, but I invite others as well. I want anyone who walks through my doors to feel like a part of my family.

 

Cooking and baking has always brought me great joy. It is one of the ways that I express my love for the people around me! If I can give some of this joy to another person through a cookie, cupcake, or any other of my tasty treats, I will consider that a job well done.
